Why should I take Private Lessons?
We recommend Private Lessons to EVERY student in our program. If we could require them, we would. One-on-one teaching is the best way to make progress on something as complex as learning a new instrument. Here are just a few benefits:
Instant Feedback - In private lessons, students receive instant and personalized feedback about their playing, allowing them to make changes and improvements faster.
Opportunity to Progress Further - Private lesson teachers provide additional instruction in technique and literature outside of what is done in class.
Expand Technique - Private lesson teachers are specialists on their specific instrument and can provide "tricks of the trade".
Connection - In the course of a busy day, one on one time with a private instructor provides students with the time to connect
Robinson has a long standing tradition of excellence. That excellence is due, in part, to the work of private lesson teachers. A quality private lesson teacher can make a tremendous difference not only in your child's playing ability, but in your child's level of enjoyment.
Is it ok to study with a teacher outside of Robinson?
Yes. We are happy to recommend outside teachers who have repeatedly produced successful players. Please contact us for suggestions, as not all teaching is created equal. A quality lesson teacher knows how to teach posture, intonation, tone, and musicianship in a fun and engaging manner.
