Dan Golleher - Violin
Mr. Golleher is in his tenth year with Plano ISD and holds over 20 years of teaching experience and nearly 30 years of professional performance experience.
As a Baroque and Modern violinist, Mr. Golleher resides in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Golleher began his formal music education in 1997 at The University of North Texas at Denton (UNT). At UNT, under the direction of Dr. Cecil Adkins and Dr. Lyle Nordstrom, Mr. Golleher started his Early Music endeavors. As a concerto competition winner in the Early Music Department of UNT he performed Vivaldi’s "Summer" from "The Four Seasons" with the UNT Collegium Musicum. Mr. Golleher held concert master duties of the UNT Collegium Musicum for two years. Traveling within the United States and abroad to pursue his musical studies has allowed him to train with Anshel Brusilow, Cynthia Roberts, David Douglass, Jeanne Lamon, Julianne Baird, Linda Melstead, Monica Huggett, Philip Lewis, Simon Standage and Timothy Haig. Mr. Golleher has also studied with Tafelmusik (Toronto, Canada) and has performed with the UNT Collegium at the Berkeley Early Music Festival (Berkeley, CA) and the Boston Early Music Festival (Boston, MA) Fringe Concerts.
Mr. Golleher’s professional career has taken him on tour both within the United States and abroad work with such musicians and ensembles as David Douglass, John Holloway, Monica Huggett, Lisa Loeb, James Richman, Cynthia Roberts, Amarillo Symphony, Atlanta Baroque, Baroque Band, Church of the Incarnation Music Series, Dallas Bach Society, East Texas Symphony, Fort Smith Symphony, The Helios Ensemble, New Trinity Baroque, OKC Philharmonic, Orchestra of New Spain, Richardson Symphony, Shreveport Symphony, Turtle Creek Choral and various ensembles throughout the DFW Metroplex.
Off the concert stage, Mr. Golleher keeps a full studio of private students eager to learn and compete in All-Region competitions and audition for All-State. Mr. Golleher enjoys educating young people in the concert hall through ‘The Young People's Concert’ with the symphonies in the DFW Metroplex and has also concert lectured at Georgia State University with New Trinity Baroque and Grinnell College with Baroque Band.
Daniel Golleher performs on a 2005 Timothy Johnson Baroque Violin, 1996 Bronek Cison Modern Violin, a Ralph Ashmead Baroque Bow, and a David Hawthorne short Baroque bow. On a flip side, Mr. Golleher’s best kept secret is a lifelong dream to be a Blue Man in the Blue Man Group.
Fun Fact: The first violin concerto I fell in love with was the Beethoven Violin Concerto and remains to this day my favorite concerto in the violin repertoire. It has been a 30 year love affair.
Katie Farrelly - Violin
Experience, professionalism, and results make Katie Farrelly a sought after violin teacher in the DFW area. Her students benefit from her 22 years of experience as Assistant Concertmaster of the Dallas Opera Orchestra, and they consistently place well in All Region and All State Orchestras. A specialist in audition preparation, Ms. Farrelly is able to guide students through the audition process with success, producing the Concertmaster of the Texas All State Orchestra in 2016 and the Concertmaster of the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra. She welcomes students of all ages and levels of experience. A member of
TMEA, DMTA, and MTNA, Ms. Farrelly implements current teaching methods and materials. She teaches beginning students to read music and understand music theory along with their repertoire and instructs advanced students in methods to increase their sight reading aptitude and performance skills.
Katie Farrelly received two degrees in Music Performance from the University of North Texas, where she served as a teaching fellow during her graduate studies. She is an active performer in the DFW area and has been teaching violin for over twenty years.
Steven Juarez - Viola
A passionate musician, determined ensemble leader, music administrator and founding member of The Cezanne Quartet, Steven has studied viola since the age of nine. Steven has transformed into an ambitious and enthusiastic ensemble musician.
Steven’s musical journey, development and experience has been a result of performances with The Cézanne Quartet (2015 Coltman Competition Silver Medalist), The New Conservatory of Dallas, The Institute for Strings, Meadows Symphony Orchestra at Southern Methodist University , The Peabody Institute’s Symphony Orchestra and The National Symphony Orchestra’ Summer Music Institute.
The development of Steven’s musical style is the result of a lifetime of musical influence. He has studied, performed and collaborated with extraordinarily talented professionals and ensembles like Arkady Fomin, Andrés Díaz, Matt Albert, Emanuel Borok, Justin Bruns, Rose Armbrust Griffin and the Altius Quartet. Further honing of his talents came from masterclasses with Peter Slowik, Roberto Díaz, Barbara Westphal, Stephanie Chase, Míro String Quartet, Escher String Quartet, American String Quartet, Modigliani String Quartet.
Steven has studied at The Peabody Institute of Music as well as Southern Methodist University under the watchful eye of Victoria Chiang and Ellen Rose, respectively.
Danny Jordan - Viola
Violist Danny Jordan is a current resident of McKinney, TX. They recently have returned to the Dallas area after completion of a Master of Music Degree in Viola Performance at the Cleveland Institute of Music, under the tutelage of Mark Jackobs. Lauded by audiences as “outstanding,” with a “sound that enraptures,” past awards and accolades include Finalist in the Meadows School of the Arts Concerto Competition, Meadows Scholar Award, Finalist in the 2022 New World Symphony Audition Tour, National Merit Scholar Award, and two-time winner of the Meadows School of the Arts Honors Chamber Music Competition. Prior to their admission to the Cleveland Institute of Music, they completed a Bachelor of Music Degree in Viola Performance from Southern Methodist University, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
Jordan has extensive solo, chamber, and orchestral performance experience in some of the most prestigious concert halls in Texas and Ohio, including Jones Hall in Houston, the Meyerson Symphony Center, Moody Performance Hall, Severance Hall, and Winspear Opera House. Solo performance experience includes multiple public recital performances in and around Cleveland, Dallas, and Houston, including a performance as a featured soloist for Cleveland Repertory Orchestra’s 2022 Benefit Recital. Orchestral experience includes performances with Houston Youth Symphony, Meadows Symphony and Opera Orchestras, San Angelo Symphony, Cleveland Institute of Music Symphony Orchestra, Texas Music Festival Symphony Orchestra, Texarkana Symphony Orchestra, and Cleveland Repertory Orchestra, with experience performing as principal viola in the Meadows School of the Arts Symphony and Opera Orchestras, Cleveland Institute of Music Symphony Orchestra, and Cleveland Repertory Orchestras in addition to their current post as Principal Viola of the McKinney Philharmonic Orchestra. Jordan has performed under the baton of phenomenal conductors such as JoAnn Falletta, Hans Graf, Carlos Kalmar, Sey Ahn, and Phillip Mann. Chamber Music experience includes performances alongside the Escher Quartet and the formation of two full-time string quartets, as well as performances in masterclasses for the Pacifica, Dover, and Elias Quartets.
In addition to their performance experience, Jordan is an avid educator, working with violists and violinists of all ages in individual and group settings for the last decade. Their students have earned entry into a variety of ensembles and programs, including Houston Youth Symphony, Cleveland School of the Arts, the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra, and various All-Region Ensembles across the state of Texas. Beyond the classroom, Jordan was recently announced as a member of the American Viola Society’s Youth Advisory Council, in which they advocate for the wants and needs of young violists across the United States. In addition to their work in classical music, Jordan also spends time tutoring in Spanish, as well as various maths and sciences. In their free time, they enjoy cooking, hiking, and making music with their closest friends. Jordan performs on a viola made by Alan and Sarah Balmforth in Seattle, WA in 1999.
Linda Choi - Cello
Linda began her interest in music at the age of seven in Korea. She immigrated to Southern California and played cello throughout her youth and decided to major in music in college.
She enrolled at among the top music schools, Indiana University, Bloomington and was mentored by some of the best music professors. She received her Bachelor's degree in Music Performance. She graduated from Indiana and pursued her Master’s. She later received her Performance Diploma there as well. Her favorite professors, Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi & Ronald Leonard, really made such amazing impressions upon her.
She has been teaching privately for 18 years and has had much reward from following many students, some of which even pursued music. Some of her orchestra experiences include; Columbus Symphony, Terre Haute Symphony & San Bernardino Symphony. Her love for Chamber Music include; Del Gesus String Ensemble, Iris Chamber Ensemble, Ensemble Christo.
Currently, going on her 5th year in Plano ISD, she is looking forward to creating a passion in music for young students just as her professors impressed upon her.
Katelyn Petersen - Cello
Katelyn Petersen is a San Antonian cellist and composer in DFW, teaching both piano and cello. She began music at age 3 studying piano for 12 years, violin for 3, and now cello for almost 14 years, following her grandmother who was a respected professor of piano, cello, and theory, as well as a composer, and principal cello of several orchestras in Michigan.
Katelyn has attended the Interlochen Summer Intensive, Sewanee Summer Music Festival, and toured Europe with the Youth Orchestras of San Antonio. She got her Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance and Music Composition from Southern Methodist University and aspires to earn a Master’s Degree in Film Composition or Interdisciplinary Arts so she can reach her goal of unifying artists and audiences under interdisciplinary works of art.
Her cello teachers include Kenneth Freudigman, Andrés Díaz, Christopher Adkins, and composition teachers include Xi Wang, Lane Harder, and Robert Frank. One unique quality to her music, as well as her own self-taught visual art, is her synesthesia, in which she is able to experience multiple senses triggered by sound, visuals, physical touch, tastes, and smells.
Graham Eubanks - Bass
Double bassist Graham Eubanks has been teaching and performing in the DFW area since 2008. As a freelance musician, he has performed with a wide variety of ensembles, including the Dallas Opera, the Plano Symphony Orchestra, and multiple jazz groups. A passionate educator, he has a thriving studio of bass students, many of whom have gone on to pursue degrees and careers in music, with focuses including classical performance, jazz performance, and music education. Graham is a graduate of Rice University's Shepherd School of Music, where he studied with Paul Ellison.
