Mary Havenstrite
Mary Havenstrite received her Bachelor of Music Education from Loyola University in New Orleans and a Masters in Violin Performance from the University of North Texas. This is Mrs. Havenstrite's 20th year at Robinson Middle School.
Under Mrs. Havenstrite's direction, the Robinson Orchestra has represented Texas three times as the state honor group; in 2016 and 2014 as the Honor Full Orchestra, and in 2009 as the Honor String Orchestra. In addition, Robinson String and/or Full orchestra have been state Honor Orchestra 14 times since 2007. In 2011, Mrs. Havenstrite was one of 5 honorees to receive the Excellence in Teaching Award for PISD.
In her nearly 30 years of orchestra directing Mrs. Havenstrite has taught Middle School, High School, and Senior high in both Plano and Frisco. In addition to her public school experience, Mrs. Havenstrite conducted the GDYO Dallas String Ensemble for several years.
Mrs. Havenstrite is a member of ASTA, TMEA, and TODA and frequently serves as a guest conductor, clinician, and adjudicator nationally. Mrs. Havenstrite currently resides in Plano, TX with her husband David and has 3 talented daughters Katy, Julia, and Molly Nell.
Jackson Hardman
A Houston, TX native, Jackson Hardman just completed his Master of Music Program at Southern Methodist University, where he studied Violin Performance. Jackson is an avid performer, collaborating with professional orchestras around the DFW area as well as Tulsa and Oklahoma. Jackson’s involvement with the Aspen Music Festival and Round Top Festival Institute has gained him knowledge and experience in the performing industry creating connections from people across the globe. After receiving his Bachelors degree from the University of Texas at Arlington, studying Music Education, Jackson has had the opportunity to teach all age groups as well as being an Assistant Orchestra Director for Renner Middle School in Plano, TX. When Jackson is not teaching or performing, he is catering to his cat, Cheeto, and playing video games.
